February may be the month of romance, but for metal fans in Seattle it looks to be a month full of brutal shows as well. The Nocturnal Tour featuring The Black Dahlia Murder got things started earlier this week. Here’s what’s coming up:

Agalloch / Grayceon Spring Shows

Portland’s Agalloch will be playing a couple shows this March, with fellow Vendlus Records artist Grayceon. Agalloch and Grayceon each have their own unique styles of progressive metal - Agalloch incorporates influences from neofolk, black metal, and industrial/ambient, while Grayceon is notable for their use of the electric cello as a primary instrument.

Despite their proximity to Seattle, neither Agalloch nor Grayceon seem to make it up here very often, so you don’t want to miss this chance to catch them live. Seattle black metal band In Memorium will also be providing support on the Seattle show.

This Week: Om at Neumo’s

Om brings their hypnotic brand of psychedelic metal to Seattle this Thursday, in support of their latest album, "Pilgrimmage." Consisting of the rhythm section of the disbanded stoner/doom metal band Sleep, Om features rhythmic, bass-heavy pulses of meditative melodies accompanied by chant-like vocals.
